Well, wouldn't you know it, we don't get HBO or I would be on this right away!! It sounds like a divine movie. I love the pics and Drew Barrymore looks perfect for Little Eddie. I also love Jessica Lange. This would be a great movie to see...I'll just have to check out the documentary. Don't forget to do a follow-up post about this after it's over...I'll be drooling in the meantime. Sigh

ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this story/documentary. I will definitely have to check it out from Netflix when it is released. Thank you for sharing. And Drew Barrymore's ivory and grey dress...so beautiful!

ReplyDeleteOh my, before I posted this message I searched for the original on ebay, and bidded! I never had heard about these ladies but now I am intrigued. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is lovely!
By some crazy oversight, I didn't have you on my blogroll! Thus, I missed this post, and the movie. It certainly serves me right - but the situation has been remedied!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend my friend,
xo
I have owned the documentary for a few years and never made it to the musical. I was so excited to see the movie thursday night. I think Drew and Jessica did an amazing job with their performances. The whole story is a bit surreal and bittersweet and one can't help but be fascinated by these two.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh yes, I kept thinking of all that great furniture going to waste!
Lisa & Alfie
It has been a long time since I first saw the original documentary. The Docu-Drama was a great reenactment. Both actresses expressed those women graciously. They have no fear.
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie...so sad yet a love story of mother and daughter. Very interesting how these once wealthy women lived. I am searching for the original documentary.... Cindy
