Picasso was a whimsical

His art was genius! I cannot think of a contemporary artist that comes close to the brilliance or breadth of Picasso's work. You found some lovely photos to go with this post.

ReplyDeleteThere is something extremely special about a man who appreciates women like Picasso did ~ such an incredible respect and awe of the female form and beauty! And of course, we can't forget his devotion to LUMP (best name ever!). An artistic genius like no other....
ReplyDeleteDear Janet,
ReplyDeleteWhat a very sweet tribute. I am sure you are correct. He must be very pleased with how much he is still admired and adored.
Wishing you a beautiful day,
Betty
I enjoy your blog but I wonder if any of your readers have actually read about the real Picasso. Picasso as a person, father, lover, husband, etc. vs. Picasso the artist? By most accounts he was not a "nice" man.
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely post and magnificent images inside Picasso's world.
ReplyDeleteHave a most delighful weekend.
xo ~Dana
now that was a man who knew how to live! he lived every minute of it to the fullest, how inspirational and of couse an artist genuis. his early work work was incredible!
ReplyDeleteKaren
Thank you for sharing such personal and beautiful photographs of the artist!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful photos. I think you should read one of his bios however - although he was a brilliant artist, he most certainly was NOT a nice father or husband. In fact, I would go so far as to say he was quite cruel to a lot of the women [and there were many] in his life.
ReplyDeleteJanet,
ReplyDeleteWow, his studio alone is an art in itself! I can't imagine having such a talent that would change the world of art!
Thank you for sharing!
Mandy

Lovely tribute to a wonderful artist. We need more like him to help Mother Earth retain her beauty. Art is an expression of the soul and feeds the soul, frees the soul.

ReplyDeletebon weekend,
xx
a beautiful piece...
ReplyDeletewonderful post! I miss our dear pablo as well, socialist womanizer or not ;) he was truly a renaissance man and a wonderful artist!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog, but Picasso was a misogynist who treated the women in his life with cruelty and contempt. One of his exes (Marie-Therese Walter) hanged herself after his death. Another ex, Dora Maar, had a complete mental breakdown and required electroshock treatments. Jacqueline Roque (the woman pictured in your post)killed herself in 1986 with a gunshot to the head. He destroyed most of the women he was with...
