If These Walls Could Talk

Renovation of old hotels
always amaze me.
I daydream of the history
and stories
that took place in them.
If these old walls could speak...
What a tale they would
have to tell~

Couples in love
&
rooms full of laughter...
Children playing hide & seek...
If only these walls could speak~

Tell me a tale that might have been~
Mauhhhh!

  1. Oh wow, what beautiful images, I absolutely love that 3rd one......I too love to wonder about the past and what stories the building could tell, wouldn't it be fascinating to know....

Thank you so much for you post to me today on my blog.....I loved every word of what you said and of course you are so right.....my son starts school full time in September next year and I know even then that I will miss him. Today I just needed to share my feelings a little tiny teeny bit and then I felt so much better....plus some kitchen dancing and a donut didn't do any harm ;)

Thank you my friend, have a lovely day :)

  3. There is something so exquisite about the glamour and design of old hotels....if only the walls could whisper their greatest secrets in our ears.

  11. I could make up a dozen stories....I always had an overly-intense interest in people's lives (real or imagined). The most fabulous hotel, I do hope they are restoring without losing the grandeur of that 3rd pic. Will catch up soon when I get that monkey off my back if you know what I mean. A few glitches and alot more drinking soon! XO

  15. Gorgeous images. I always think it's sad when beautiful buildings with such great histories, are left to fall apart.

  16. The only tale I can tell you is that I have 2 enormous Corinthian columns like those in the first picture but I have low ceilings in my cottage but I won't part with them. They are in store where I suppose they will stay until I have a brain wave.

  17. The tinkle of crystal in the Hotel Restaurant.
Plush red carpet beneath satin slippers.
Heavy drapes begging to be thrown open to mornings first light and desiring to be drawn to cover and comfort the nights passions.
A world in a world. A safe haven of newness and excitement. The luxury of lost time beneath the crisp sheets. The delightfulness of lingering guiltlessly in the embrace of warm water in a marble bathtub.
For a moment you are the Princess and this world, this Hotel luxurious, is your castle!

Oh , yes, if only walls could talk! What Queens and godesess have walk through these halls.

  19. Its images like these that seduced me into hospitality.
Whilst I dont have a hotel like this one yet its my 'one day' if you know what I mean.
It speaks of faded elegance seduction and yes passion of course.
    Big sigh!! :)
